On the afternoon of November 10, 2016, the second meeting of the second council of Science China and Chinese Science Bulletin (hereinafter referred to as "two journals") is held. Chunli Bai, the president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the two journals council, awards certificates to the two journals' 2016 excellent editorial board members, authors and editors. Excellent author in mathematics is awarded to CAS Academician Song Jiang from the Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics.

Song Jiang is an outstanding author for Science China Mathematics, always submitting his important research results to this journal, among which his article published in 2015 was marked as " Highly Cited Paper" by the database Web of Science. He also supports the Chinese version of this journal, being invited to publish several research papers and review articles in recent years, among which his review article Computable Modeling published in 2012 was selected as F5000 paper.

The excellent authors of the two journals are recommended by each journal's editorial board. Each editorial board would choose one excellent author approved by the editor-in-chief, and submitted it to the council for approval. From this year on, the two journals will organize such activity every year, to show gratitude and recognition to the scientists striving for the journal quality.
